Crincrit's link is from 2017 when EA was still using Origin. Is the advice still effective (and safe)?

can confirm i removed lovestruck today using this method. game seems to be fine. when you enter the save it says you have issues so you run save without the pack - then in the world it says stuff is missing so you then play with it missing. 
the link above is just a web page not a download like i expected.
the box is now on your steam page in options.

just might want to run a new game though as some of your clothing/buildings might have stuff with the pack you have deleted so as long as you use basegame sims/clothing you good.
