I also having problems with some of the microsoft solitaire games after doing this update
@anikrilor Try running sfc in safe mode. Here's how to access it:
Please keep in mind that you'll need your password, NOT your PIN, to sign in while in safe mode. If you don't know your password (and I promise your account has one), find or reset it first. You should be able to reset it if necessary through your Microsoft account, since that account link is how you'd be signing into your computer with only a PIN.
If sfc doesn't run in safe mode, try this command:
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Checkhealth
and let me know what result you get.
Couldn't run sfc in safe mode either, so I tried the DISM.exe command and got this message: No component store corruption detected. The operation completed successfully
@anikrilor Try running these commands in PowerShell (Admin):
sc config trustedinstaller start= auto
net start trustedinstaller
You should see "Success" after the first one and a message that the service was started after the second. Then run sfc again (without restarting your computer) and let me know whether it works.
If it doesn't, I'd suggest doing a repair install, as described here:
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/16397-repair-install-windows-10-place-upgrade.html
This shouldn't delete any of your data, but if you get to step 13 and are NOT asked whether you want to keep personal files and apps, back out and start over.
I tried all your suggestions, but they all failed 😞 so I ended up doing a repair install. So fare everything seems ok after the new install, so I'm crossing my fingers hoping this fixed it. Thanks here for all help trying to solve this, I'm grateful 🙂
