Re: Origin is not running message (d3382ced:984c6a38:00000000)... although it is

Cross-posting from The Sims 4 Forum.

It seems a lot of people have had this issue over time. I wanted to share my fix in case it helps others.

I tried everything with the exception of uninstalling TS4 and resinstalling. I tried:

- Uninstalling and reinstalling Origin

- Uninstalling and manually wiping all traces of Origin and reinstalling

- Uninstalling and using CCleaner and Decrap to wipe all traces of Origin from my computer, then reinstalling

- Starting my PC in safe mode, resetting my computer to a save point

- Uninstalling CyberGhost (the only thing I had downloaded since I last played TS4)

- Repairing TS4 from within Origin

- Run Origin and TS4 as Administrator

- Run Origin and TS4 in Win8 compatibility

- Troubleshooting compatibility from the desktop

Rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat.

The only thing that helped occurred to me by accident. I noticed when doing ctl+shift+esc that Origin was running in 32-bit, despite my computer being 64-bit (I double checked this). I was unable to change Origin into 64-bit, so I thought, "Why not try changing Sims to 32-bit?"

IT WORKED. Here's how you do it:

From Origin, right click on TS4, and select, "Game Properties." From there, use the drop-down menu to select 32-bit.

It's only a guess, but I think the newest patch must have done something to fudge it all up, since aside from downloading CyberGhost, that's the only thing that has changed.

From what Google tells me, it isn't that bad to run a 32-bit program on a 64-bit machine. In fact, Chrome, OpenOffice, and a number of other programs are currently running on 32-bit on my computer. Hope this helps others in my position!

Thank you FR FR. It's been a real struggle trying to get this game to work. Your solution was my last easy resort, so if your solution wasn't going to work I was going to resort to some EXSTREME *. SO FR THX.
