Re: Sentiments have vanished

@SimMariaG No, that file is just a cache file and has nothing to do with game content.

Maybe removing the mod or the conflict as such caused it though

Sentiments aren't permanent though. Were they still all full (like the icons looking full ?)

  • Thanks for the reply.

It's strange. I had all of my usual mods in, but MCCC was in conflict with WW. I removed all of the mods and added back everything but WW. MCCC now works, but like I said all of the sentiments have gone.

Before I moved the mods the husband and wife sims had various close relationship sentiments, but now the panel is totally empty. They also don't have any sentiments with their friends. The lifestyles are still in progress though.

Do the sentiments just disappear? They were full before.

@SimMariaG They should gradually get less over time. You can see that on the icon as the background slowly gets less green/red. They shouldn't just disappear altogether.

Hard to tell if it was a side effect of removing the mod or not.

Are you able to get new ones ? Do you have a backup maybe you can try if the same happens again ?
  • I've just checked and new sentiments are being gained, so I guess what could have happened is that all of the sentiments started at around the same time and then expired without me noticing. Sorry for the misunderstanding, and thanks for your help!

    My sentiments just disappear in a flash, not gradually, particularly the close from happy memories one.  :{

@Gednaa Do they look empty or full before they disappear ?

Are you using mods/cc in your game ?

@crinrict I do indeed use mods. Just wish I knew which one was causing it. I guess I'll have to spend time taking them all out and reintroducing one by one, but that will take an age! if I take mods out, my sims are dead within seconds as they are so happy with their celebrity lifestyle, they die of hysteria!

@crinrict wish we weren't on lockdown. I can't get a drive compatible with a Mac so I can't backup. I have Apple's cloud thingy, but that doesn't seem to work. Also dropbox but not having much success with that either. Must be brain-fog (I have autism!). Thanks though, I'll keep trying. 🙂

@Gednaa Just backup to the same drive (different place on the same drive)

All you need to do really is create a copy of your savegame, then remove the mods and find out what mod is causing it. Once you know which one, remove that, then put the copy of your save game back that wasn't affected by removing all mods.

Does that make more sense ?

@crinrict Ah, thanks. Yes, that does help a lot. I thought I needed a separate backup drive, which I don't have yet. You're a star!
