Re: Sims 4 - Game stuck forever loading (no mods)
@Mousielg Thanks for the dxdiag. Have you tried removing the entire Sims 4 folder from Documents > Electronic Arts yet? If not, please do so now. Let me know if it copies instead of moving, or you get an error when trying to move it; otherwise, try again to play. You don't need to wait more than about 5 minutes—if it hasn't loaded by then, with no mods or custom content present, it's not going to, given the speed of your hardware.
Your dxdiag crashed while running and is missing some information as a result. Some of the errors it contains are Windows-related as well. So it's a good idea to run a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:
- Hit Windows key-X
- Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
- Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
- The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
- After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
- Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
- Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
- Post the message you receive here
Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates. If any install, restart again afterwards.
Finally, please update the Nvidia graphics driver. You can get the newest driver here:
https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/216928/en-us/
Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator." Chose the Custom (not Express) install option, and check the box to perform a clean install. Restart your computer again after installing and before trying to play. Continue to use the clean Sims 4 folder rather than your old one, at least for now.
