I'm also having this issue. The game crashes after loading without even showing the main menu. I've tried repairing the game, reinstalling the game, installing the game through steam, removing my virus protection, taking out mods, saves and tray files, starting with a completely clean sims 4 folder and unlinking my one drive, but nothing changes the result. It doesn't even show an error message or code after crashing. Attached is my DxDiag.
@lavenleapsims Thanks for the dxdiag. Please plug your monitor directly into the graphics card, and not the motherboard, as you've done. This is a diagram I like to borrow from someone else:
Because your dxdiag lists a number of generic Windows update errors, I would also suggest running a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:
Hit Windows key-X
Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
Post the message you receive here
Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates. If any install, restart again afterwards.
If you still can't play, please unplug your virtual display hub.
Thank you for the help, i still cannot get the game to launch. The message after the scan was "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations." I completed all updates and unplugged my virtual display hub.
@lavenleapsims Okay, please try again to launch the game (so that you've tried multiple times after the changes, so as to generate more errors), and post a new dxdiag.
