Re: Sims 4 crashing issues.

Do you have a Dxdiag log you could put into a spoiler or a link to your system information so I can get a better overview of your system?

Also, one last generic thing to try: Right click Sims 4 and add -w to the parameters and disable Origin in-game.

 Could you please explain this to me in greater detail, I don't understand...

My game keeps crashing while in CAS. I can't even get past the create a sim part so entering the gma in any other way doesn't seem possible(?) I just bought and received this game 5 days ago and have never gotten beyond CAS. I was able to figure out every sim game, 1, 2, and 3 without all these issues. Maybe I can attempt your suggestion but I'll; really need a walk through.

When you are in Origin, if you hover your cursor over the Sims4 game you will get the dialog box with a huge orange "Play" button.  To the left of that button is a grey "i" button.  Left click on that and you will get a new screen with options for Sims 4.  Right next to the graphic for the game are some links. Choose the Actions heading click on Game Properties. You will get a new window pop up  See this to see how it should be:

This opens the game with Origin offline and Sims 4 in the windowed mode, not full screen as is the default.  This allowed me to play longer for a while, but not by much.  I finally just dumped my Sims4 folder (losing my progress in the game) and started over.  I had saved my original couple and was able to move them into the neighborhood.  Very aggravating because I had to start them all over again, however it also allows me to correct a few mistakes I had made learning the new game. 

I'm hoping the figure the problem out soon because I know I am far from the only one experiencing this and to be honest, it's a problem that should have been fleshed out in Beta and fixed before release, because it is a major factor in my wanting my money back fro what has turned out to be a regression in the Sims game.  The game isn't even as much fun as Sims2 at release.

Thank you SevWolf, I will try your suggestion to see if it works for me. I've done all the other troubleshooting advice i was given from Origin Support but like you, the much anticipated release of TS4 is way overrated and I for one am considering demanding a refund as well if this isn't resolved soon. It is not even at the level of sims 1, which is saying a lot, in my book.

I bought this game not even a week ago, and I have spent every single day trying to get it to work UGH!

I'm going to try your suggestion now and see how it goes; I'll keep you posted.

I wonder (an after thought), if buying the upgrade to the digital deluxe might resolve these issues...

Thanks SevWolf 🙂 I was finally able to get through the CAS and actually create my sim, Yippie!

Any idea how I get the cheat codes to work, though, now?  I have not been able to get any of the cheats to work either. Yes... i confess, i am a huge user of the motherlode cheat, hehe. most of the cheats; including testingcheats true/false do not work.

Unbelievable this game typically costs around 80 bucks as it has been cheaply put together.

Anyway, any help on how to get my cheats working, that would be awesome 🙂 So far,so good with creating my sims finally

I'm not sure about cheats, but you can easily Google Sims 4 cheats.  Use at your own peril, however. 😕mileywink:

Also, I bought the digital deluxe and all I got out of it was a bunch of stupid plumbob lamps honoring the Sims3 expansions I've bought over the years.

Ah, so really not worth the extra 14.95 to upgrade then; good to know.

I got it working finally. even began adding stuff to a house I uploded from the gallery. It's a bit challenging trying to figure out how to rotate around the property, but still haven't figured out how to rotate the objects.

Witht this being a new series, i took into account that there may be a few challenges learning tthe new style of game play but never expected this to be so complicated which was greatly amplified by all the crashes, lol
