Re: sims 4 crashing when gpu hits 100
@strahberrie Your GPU certainly shouldn't be anywhere near 100% use in Sims 4 no matter what's happening on-screen. But the first question is whether you've limited your in-game framerates. To be clear, not doing so still shouldn't max out the graphics card, but it's an easy step. You can enable vertical sync in the Nvidia Control Panel or use the in-game setting (with the other graphics settings); please keep in mind that v-sync only works in fullscreen mode.
I'd also like to know what fps you're seeing during these spikes. If you don't have any monitoring software installed, you can enable the in-game fps counter with the cheat fps on; the number will appear in the lower-left corner, over the user interface.
Please let me know whether you're using Origin or the EA app as welll. If you're running the EA App, I'd like to know whether this problem happens with Origin. Some players can't use Origin at all anymore, but for those who can, it can be reinstalled from the link in this post:
You wouldn't need to uninstall the EA App; just don't try to run both apps at the same time.
