Re: SIMS 4 game window min-maxing

@Rakr22  I've moved your post to the PC tech section.

Please disable Origin in-game, as well as all the other Origin notifications.  In Origin, hover over your username, select Application Settings, then the Origin in-game header, and disable it.  Click the Notification header, and turn off everything, both the notifictations and the sounds.  Be sure to quit Origin and restart it before testing.

If that doesn't help, disable any other overlays you have running while you play.  Disable Windows notifications as well, at least while playing.

Hello, thank you for the advice I really appreciate it. I've been a little hot-headed later in night, so I ended up with rage-reinstalling Windows. Sadly, the problem is not solved, but I keep digging. Right now, I have:

    - disabled everything I could in Origin

    - disabled Win notification

and still get interrupts, however one thing did change - I am not able to play other games as well, so after doing little research, I blame Microsoft  and their stupid updates - thanks again for your time, but it looks like I will have to get windows in shape and not SIMS 4.

  • @Rakr22  Sorry to hear that you're having so much trouble.  Since you posted yesterday, there have been a number of reports, mostly in the Origin tech section, of similar behavior from Origin.  One person reported that they noticed a second instance of Origin.exe in the Task Manager, and it appeared to be attempting to update all installed Origin games.  Another person reported that repairing each game individually fixed the issue.

One other suggestion floating around is to opt out of the beta version of Origin, then uninstall and reinstall it.  To access the setting, open Origin, hover over your username, select Application Settings, then under Application (the first tab), scroll down to Client update and turn off the option to participate in client betas.  I'm not sure whether a hard uninstall is necessary, or a regular one would do.

With all the reports though, I'd expect someone to figure this out soon enough.  If you're not interested in following the giant mess in Origin tech, I'll post back when I see any definitive fix.
