Re: Sims Delivery Error 00000008:00000000000000c8

@JulioLikesCats  When you've installed the game through Steam, you can only repair through Steam, not the EA App.  So that's normal.  And if you use a third-party antivirus, Windows Defender should automatically disable itself and associated features like Controlled Folder Access.

For the issue itself, try pausing OneDrive syncing.  You can see the option by right-clicking the cloud icon in the lower-right corner of the screen.

If that doesn't help, please let me know what you mean when you say you can't access your saves.  Are they not showing up at the Main Menu, are they there but you can't load them, or something else?

@vixmercury02  I've merged your post with another thread on the same subject.  Please try pausing OneDrive syncing, as described above.

@puzzlezaddictPausing OneDrive syncing worked when I ran the game without mods, and the error message disappeared. But when I tried to add mods back into my game (still pausing OneDrive syncing) the error came back, and my CC are not showing up in game in the mods list. Is there any way I can fix the error and still use CC?

About the saves, I can see them in the Main Menu but if I press play on any of them it comes up with a message saying could not save, or it will just not have any of the households I made on the maps. If I press resume in the Main Menu the same thing happens and all of the houses on the maps have error signs.

    I've attached some photos,

    Thank you

@JulioLikesCats  For the missing mods and custom content, please make sure that you've reenabled the relevant settings in the game options post-patch.  Please also make sure the files are still in the correct folder, as in, the one Sims 4 is reading.  Here's how to find that folder:

    https://sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2018/07/how-to-find-your-user-folder/

For the orange exclamation points, please use this thread:

    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/NEEDS-SAVES-Orange-Exclamation-signs-over-lots-Houses-disappear/m-p/10534581

The short version is, the save itself may be corrupted beyond repair, so you might need to load a backup with no mods present.  Here's how:

Nevermind, I fiddled around a bit and added my mods folders back into the game one by one this time and the game works just fine as it did before this issue started happening with OneDrive syncing paused. The problems with the saves and the exclamation marks above the houses disappeared when the delivery error was fixed. Thank you so much for the help puzzlezaddict!

    Hello!
I'm having problems starting the sims 4 game.
    operating system: windows
    platform: pc
    steam
    antivirus: windows defender
    game: sims 4
    OneDrive it's not turned on
After the last update I got error code 00000008:00000000000000c8 when entering the game. I deleted the steam cache, the update history of the EA launcher (app recovery ) and the sims 4 map from the c drive/users/electronic arts map. I restarted the computer, I tried to start the game from the EA app, steam and AMD software, but I always only got to the main menu, because every time I got the above mentioned error code. I checked that the Windows firewall allows the necessary software, and that my video card is also controlled by the appropriate software.
Mod cc and no other external content.I reinstalled the game and the EA app, but it didn't help.
After every update I face this error. Previously, one of the above mentioned attempts solved the problem, but now none of them help. Please help me get rid of the error so that the game can be played again and I welcome any ideas, advice or suggestions on how I can prevent this error again during the next update. Thanks in advance for your help!

@Almodozo82  When you say you checked the Windows firewall, did you specifically check these settings?

    https://crinrict.com/blog/2019/03/windows-10-defender-controlled-folder-access.html

If not, please do so now.

If that doesn't help, then as a test, please create a new admin Windows account and try playing in that.  Make it local, as in, don't link it with your Microsoft account.  You'll be able to launch Sims 4 without reinstalling anything, but your user content won't be available.  That can be addressed later; for now, please simply load the game a few times and see whether you get the SDX error again.

I don't have such a TS4_x64.exe in the list, but it allows everything related to EA and Sims.

I created a new windows account with system administrator rights and it shows the same error in the same way.

@Almodozo82  The firewall settings in your screenshot are not the same as Controlled Folder Access.  Please follow the guide I linked to allow TS4_x64.exe and EADesktop.exe, then let me know whether it helps.

The user interface in your screenshot names the applications, not the executables, which is why you see "The Sims 4" instead of TS4_x64.

Finally managed to resolve the situation. The problem was caused by the EA app. After I switched to the new windows account, it didn't want to work in any of the accounts. Stopped with error code 101. I deleted Mandehon from the original account and reinstalled it in the new windows account and now the game can finally be played.
Thanks for the help, I will come after the next update.

I had this error message when I started my game. I got the code 22 error where the game couldn't save when I tried to load my game. The image of my sim next to "Resume" was a white sim shape.
My TS4_x64 exe folder was being blocked by Controlled Folder Access. I enabled it and the sims Delivery error was gone, and my save loaded.

To find if this is happening to you (I have Windows 11) go to Settings/ Privacy and Security/ Windows Security/ Manage Ransomware Protection/ Block History. You can check if your TS4_x64 was blocked, (I check by the time listed to help as I load then go to block history to see if it was blocked) I click on the "LOW" on the right of the listed folder/ application and click on the text saying to allow it.

I actually have to check here a lot for applications, like Sims4Studio, being blocked too.

    Hope this helps 🙂

@Varshali19  Does the Gallery work in a new admin Windows account?  Please try and let me know.  Make the account local, as in, don't link it to your Microsoft account.  You'll be able to launch Sims 4 without reinstalling anything, but your saves and other user data won't be available.  That can be fixed later if you want, but for now, just test without it.
