Re: "Social Butterfly" child aspiration doesn't count preexisting friends

This is the only thread I found for issue with child aspiration: social butterfly. I believe reading trait has been updated so the final goal is 3 child and 2 adult friends. I thought maybe it was not counting family (even out of house) or old relationships but both my kids had trouble. I intentionally didn't make friends with outsider children until last stage with my current child and it only has counted one of 2 children and I had to make 3 adult friends before it completed that portion. I noticed the kid that got skipped, 1) was in my group (or maybe a party hmm) 2) got way past "friend" on the bar but was still called acquaintance until they left. Also I had a seprate save where I made 8 plus child friends who finally counted (I ended up failing adult portion). I can't figure it out, are family excluded, are there know bugs for it not registering even when they are really not related? I've been stuck on last stage for 5 days now. =.=

Afair, household is excluded. Don't know about direct family that's not living in the same household.

The bug should have been fixed a while ago.

Well my issue was slightly different and reoccurring with other children (same save, same family, no mods, base game + get 2 work). Is it possible it's something effected when they added parenthood? I do not have parenthood but I'm guessing they still change code to accommodate it. The child I actually accomplished it with made 5 unrelated, out of house friends before it chimed and also it did it randomly when some were at my house (but had been friends for some days). I was careful to not make friends before last stage with outside children too, so all 5 should have counted when ever they hit "friend".

I haven't tested lately but I can give it a try to see what happens for me.

I'm still trying to test this but I was wondering if the friendship actually triggered without you having to go traveling.

There's currently an issue where for some Sims, even though the bar is high enough, they stay on acquaintance. It only changes to friendship when you travel, cause the friendship not to count.

Could that be your issue ?
