    @daughtermitchell  Was one of your mods the UI Cheats mod?  That one has been causing a lot of build mode problems (even if you pulled it) if you haven't updated it since the last patch.  Weerbesu has updated it so an updated version is available.

    @daughtermitchell  The only other thing I can think of is deleting the localthumbcache.package file.  Since you took out your cc, you probably should.  No worries on deleting it since the game will regenerate a new one the next time you start the game.  That file stores some game related data but it mostly stores the thumbnails you see in CAS and build buy.  Deleting that can clear up some things left behind by cc and mods that may continue to trouble a game even after the cc and mods have been removed.  So I suggest you do so and maybe that will clear the problem.  If it does, then great.  You're good to go.  If it doesn't then come back and let us know so we can look at other things.

    @daughtermitchell

    You have been given excellent advise from @crinrict  and @CGrant56

    Testing on a vanilla (no mods/cc) folder is the best way to investigate causes of issues.
    Here is what I recommend.
    Go to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4

    Rename The Sims 4 to The Sims 4.old to preserve your saves, tray, screenshots and mods folders/files.
    Run Repair from Origin as described in troubleshooting tips.

    Start the game without adding anything back as a test.
    The game will automatically create fresh versions of all the folders/files.
    If the game works correctly you will need to test your mods /custom content (CC) to see which they are causing the problem.
    When adding/testing/deleting mods and/or cc it is important to delete the localthumbcache.package and any other cache files.
    Using the 50/50 method is suggested to speed up the process.
