Re: UI disappears after taking pics of the artist at the festival

Worked fine yesterday and was in game for a good few hours. Today its started this again. I've added a new screenshot. Has anyone seen this before?

    I tried putting this in the tech pages but no answer that could help. Since the update a few days ago, I've had weird issues in game. The first was the interaction queue disappearing then the whole screen going black. Then twice, the interaction queue disappeared and the buffs went to blank blue squares. Then just now my sims were going to get married (was an event in the calendar), and the pop up to "get started" came up, I pressed ok and then it went to the worlds screen as opposed to the venue. When I went back to the lot, they were on Mt Komerebi, but they weren't they were still in transit. I tried clicking on another family to see if I could then get back to manage worlds (as it was greyed out) and the game crashed to desktop, I've never had that happen since purchasing Sims 4 on day of release. I always keep mods up to date etc, there weren't any affected this time around. I've attached some screen shots and the last exception info is below as well as my system details:

    I have just recreated the latest issue. The pop up showed to go to the wedding venue, I clicked ok, then I am diverted to the worlds screen. I go back to the Zest lot and and it says they're in Mount Komorebi. The wedding venue is in Brindleton Bay

    @foxybabyhg3 Are you using the custom color slider mod ? It does look like a mod issue so did you test without any of them at all ? If you save, it could also be that the save is broken. Have you tried a backup ?

    EDIT: I also merged your posts. Please keep to one thread, especially if you already have help from someone.

  • Thanks, I don't have a custom colour slider mod. Not sure how that could interfere with the buffs and UI.

    They seem to be 2 separate issues, hence the 2 separate threads, and my 2nd issue seems to be very similar to the one mentioned several time with the festivals and Mt Komorebi plus the fact when I hover over the icons it says they're in Mt Komorebi, so you can see where I have the correlation.

    Its seems I *may* have figured out that part of it, I'm about to load the game to find out. I had placed a wedding venue downloaded from the gallery(generic lot type,) on the museum lot in Brindleton Bay. I remember when I changed the lot to generic, to match the gallery zoning from the museum type, it seemed to take longer than normal. When I went to choose the lot for the wedding venue when creating the wedding event, it wasn't showing the lot picture but it had the grey llama as the picture, so I assumed it was that and it was an issue with thumbnails so I clicked it. I believe it now to be a non-existent lot in Mt Komorebi. I looked at this as based on my attachments there is a mention of the "zoning". 

    Sadly, I only worked this out after uninstalling and just had started reinstalling so took a couple of hours to reinstall and by then it was 6am in the UK and I'd been trying to fix the issue all night, so I've been catching up on some sleep. 

    I bulldozed the lot (I had removed the saved games/tray/mods when reinstalling), and have placed it again on the same lot. I will now go and see what happens when I plan a wedding using the calendar to see if the correct info shows. The issue regarding the travelling was not to do with a mod or CC, and differs to my original technical help post. I can't recreate that issue as its sporadic and can find no common denominator when the issue occurs.

    Went back in game and tried to redo the wedding and the lot is coming up with the llama again-I've attached a screenshot. The work around will be I just don't use the generic zone type for now. Don't know if its for all "generic" zones or just that lot

    ***UPDATE***

    I changed the zoning of the same lot to museum and added the items required for a museum and it showed up on the venue list as normal on the event planner. It seems to be an issue with the lot zoning/type and it only started after the update to add the summer sessions so I am assuming its to do with that as that's the only change.

    Please remove all mods/CC again delete localthumbcache.package then test the game in a new save. Sometimes broken mods can permanently damage a savegame.

    Hey,

    Have you fixed this? I have had the same issues.. removed this and that and it is doing the same things after leaving build mode (UI disappearing, the flashing "text box" in build mode)
