Re: Used copy of The Sims 4

No, you have to see it their way. With earlier games people could lend out the game to anyone they wanted and install it on multiple computers.
What means a lot of lost money for EA.

You bought the game on DVD and the box was not sealed/it's a used game
Used games cannot be re-registered. Take it back to where you bought it and get a refund.

So what happens if the place you bought it from will not refund/replace the game? You're just screwed out of your money and EA makes you buy another copy so they profit twice from you? I'm sorry, but this isn't right. Nor is it proper business ethics. My copy was bought in Indiana and I'm just now downloading for the first time. I lost my receipt in the move. So I cant take the game back to the place I bought it, nor can I take it to another of their stores for a refund/replacement. If EA wants to make me shell out more money for something Ive already paid for, Maybe I should consult a lawyer. It seems that someone is either stealing codes, or multiple copies are being given the same product code. I guess ill just stop buying anything ea puts their name on, and ill persistently urge others to do the same.

If you bought the game used, then the game is sill on the persons Origin account and hence you can't use it (the person you bought it from can though).

Since purchases are now tied to an Origin account, that's how it works with most PC games these days. They can't be resold.

If you want to discuss this with EA, you need to contact a game advisors as the AHQ is a user help user platform and we can't really help you with this

  • @Firestorm30xt It's not their problem! It makes sence if you think. Someone could buy the code and then post it on his Instagram, Facebook, Twitter just so everyone can download it. Immediately EA loses 200+ bucks because of the person who shared his code. You should have asked

This is a pretty old thread so I went ahead and locked it.

Feel free to post a new thread if you need help with an issue like this. Thanks!
