Re: White lines in the ocean

@alanmichael1 Can you please go into the game graphics settings and set the resolution to ultra and see if this fixed the issue? If it does you can play with settings if you want to dial them abck a bit but leave them high enough to provide the resolution you want.

If the graphics settings are not the issue, it may be possible that you have a Mod &/or CC conflict. If you have Mods or CC (currently or in the past) you can try the following (click the spoiler tag to open directions):

Spoiler
  • Exit your game then exit Origin. Please copy the Mods folder from your 'The Sims 4' folder onto your desktop (for future reference) then delete the mods folder and the localthumbnailcache.package file in your 'The Sims 4' folder and restart the game and so that the game will re-create the folder.
  • Then run a game repair [ Open Origin, click 'Game Library' then right-click Sims 4 > Repair Game ]. Make sure to let it run until it has completed all repairs (it will do the base-game first, then run through each of your expansions/packs). After that, please see if the issue has stopped.
(If It fixes the situation you can re-add your mods/cc one at a time to see if one was conflicting with the function/causing the glitch - but do not re-add the old config file from the old mods folder, as it is possible for it to have become corrupted also.)

If neither of the two possibilities above help please provide a DxDiag for your computer.

Then you can attach the file to your reply on this post.

    Hi @SheriGR

    Thanks for your help 🙂

I am always playing on Ultra and never use mods/CC.

Here are the specs of my PC, it is by far strong enough and has no other problems with the game:

    HP Pavilion 690-p0101ng

I have made a screenshot of a white line.

    Greetings!

@alanmichael1 I will run the specs by some other helpers. Thanks for getting them!

Can you also please provide the DxDiag for your computer?: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/pc/how-to-gather-dxdiag-information/

Actually... are those white lines on the property line? Is that what you are referring to? I just double-checked in my game and in live mode the property lines don't show on the water, and I am assuming that your screenshot is also showing rain so it is a live screenshot?

Did you run a game repair and remove the cache file mentioned?

Can you also share which lot this screenshot is taken from? You have Seasons and it is rain that I see on the screenshot, correct?

The white line is at the main beach of Cavalier Cove. I'm playing the lot Bedlington Boathouse. If you go straight from the lot to the fishing point, it is on the left side. It appears at all weather conditions and at all graphical settings. I don't think there is a property near.

My DXDiag is way too long for a message here (even in a spoiler) ...

@alanmichael1 We have been able to confirm that we see the same thing on that lot. This line is an apparent clipping issue that is a bug in the game, not the fault of any graphics, etc on your machine. Please create a bug report and tag me or leave a link here to the report. We can 'me too' the report and merge this thread with the report.
