Check if your antivirus app/ firewall or Windows Defender isn't blocking TS4. Turn it off or add the Origin and TS4 to exceptions

Open Windows Defender/ Virus Protection Settings. Open also Program Files(x86)/Origin Games/ The Sims4/Games/Bin and BinLE. Add TS4 from BinLE and TS_x64 from Bin to the exception in TWO places. The first one in "Exclusions" and the second one in "Control folders access". Not only in one place but two. Do the same with Origin. The Origin you will find in the same Program Files(x86) folder.
But these files should not disappear from your game folder. Do you have only one "The Sims 4 " folder in Documents / Electronic Arts? Maybe you have there also the Legacy Edition folder?
