Resolution problems with widescreen sims 4

Hello !

Just recently reset my girlfriend pc for performance reasons because her graphics card was roasted

Anyway reinstalled sims 4 on her pc and tried to launch it the thing is with her widescreen in 3440x1440 its too much to handle for her cpu only and we tried putting it back in 1920x1080 but the resolution in the game just ins't there.

We tried pretty much anything and nothing seems to work (even tried changing her resolution directly in windows for the game to launch in 1920x1080 but her screen couldn't handle 1920x1080 even in windows)

I know she used to play before and it was in 1920x1080 with black borders to cover

  • @BigBidou  Try setting the game to fullscreen mode first, then changing the resolution.  Sims 4 shows a lot more resolution options in fullscreen mode than in windowed.

I would also suggest using a resolution that matches the 21:9 aspect ratio of the monitor, at least if your girlfriend is going to be playing in fullscreen or borderless ("windowed fullscreen" in Sims 4) mode.  Performance is generally better when the game or computer doesn't have to do extra calculations to convert one resolution to another.
