Runaway pet won't come back!

Hello, my in-game cat ran away and I have been playing for about a month (IRL time) without the cat. I posted the bulletin and everything. I have read that if you save the game while the pet is missing,  it won't come back. I also saw another post on here about solving the issue; however, when I click to view the instructions on the EA website, it says I don't have access to this page. Can someone help?

    On the character icons, the cat is still Greyed out. When I hover over the character icon, it says Missing and Fine. And the cat is still not physically in the house or on the lot.
