Screen keeps turning black

I’ve recently reinstalled Sims 4 on my computer (which can handle this game just fine since it can literally run heavier games) but the screen would suddenly go “black” the moment it loads the menu screen. You can hear music and if I press the windows key, you can also hear the game getting minimized. I can’t see the mouse or anything, just noise. I decided to download it on my laptop (can’t handle games much but good enough to run sims 4 at low graphics) to see if it would run into problems but it never goes grey. I don’t have mods at all, nor did I ever change anything.

I started experiencing this issue too just today. Though I do use mods, it was running fine yesterday even though it was really laggy. Currently been trying to save for five minutes and it keeps going black and minimizing the game.
