Sim Can't Interact With Fridge

I had this common problem. Sim could not interact with fridge, selecting a menu option would result in funds debited but no interaction in the queue. I searched the forum and found various solutions but tried only one because it was the easiest. I went to my Origin account "My Games", right clicked on the Sims 4 and selected "repair game".  I did not have high hopes because it looked like it only installed the holiday pack which I had already downloaded when I purchased the game in late December.  I was pleasantly surprised.  It fixed the issue.
