Sim can't sleep on bed

Hi, my name is Shawna, and this is the second time I have had a dumb glitch to try and fix ever since Christmas. Everything had been running good- until now. For some reason, my Sims absolutely will not go to their beds. The only one that will is the toddler, but not the parents. When I try to get them to go to sleep they wave their hands and a little bubble pops up above their head showing a path of footsteps with an X a bit away from them. I have tried everything I can think of- I have bought a new bed, moved them closer to their bed, clicked the "woohoo" or "try for baby" button, but nothing works. I don't know how to change this, but I'm on the Sims 4, not 3.
