Sims 4 - Everything has shrunk

Hi, I have owned the Sims 4 for awhile now and have been playing the game with no problems. However, since the latest update everything has shrunk... my mouse, the game menu and even the sims icon...

The game was updated, which I feel that was the cause of the little mess up of the game, but I went into the files of the Sims 4 and changed the UI scale from 100 to 50 which seemed to have worked for me.

Not completely back to normal as my cursor is smaller than usual but it doesn't really bother me too much.

Seems a bit odd that you need to set it to 50. 

What's your screen resolution and what happens if you now set it back to 100 ?
