Sims 4 black screen when selecting anything in build/buy

Everytime I select anything in build/buy the screen goes black. If I tab to the desktop and then back the screen will be back but anytime I click anything including options or switching to live mode ...

I was chatting with customer service for an hour and a half, and nothing has fixed it yet. They pretty much gave up on me and told me to try again later. It is a little bit frustrating since the anticipation to play this game has been building. One of the major parts of the game doesn't even work correctly. I am a bit fed up.

Im having the same problem. played fine on day one. Day two, goes black the moment I click on an object to purchase and place. Any solution yet?
