Sims 4 CC on external hard drive

Hello, I’ve tried everything to get my CC into my Sims. I downloaded my sims 4 onto my D/ External Hard Drive and the game plays completely fine but for some reason I can’t for the life of me figure out how to put cc into my game as The Sims 4 have downloaded with different files such as: Sims 4, _installer, Data, Delta, Game and Support. Vs the usual:
Documents, electric arts, Sims 4, Cache, Cachestr, Custom Music, Mods, onlinethumbnail, Recorded Videos, saves, Screenshot, Tray, VideocameraStates.

I have even moved my Documents folder into my D/ drive as well for some reason I still don’t get my electric arts folder or mods folder again my game play completely fine just need to find a way to get my mods into my game. I have an resource.cfg file in a Bins and Bin_le folder so totaling 2 of the resources files. Have tried making a mods folder for each of those and it still doesn’t work. : (

  • @starlight352  Mods need to go into Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods.  The game won't read them anywhere else, and it's not a good idea to add files or folders to the game's program files.

It's also not good for your system to have the Documents directory on an external drive.  If the drive is unplugged, Windows can respond badly when it looks for and can't find Documents.  The more reliable approach would be to move Documents back to C, move the Sims 4 folder inside to the external drive, then create a symbolic link to point to that folder.  Here's a guide:

Hey @Inaizew , please don't up older threads like this one, especially to say this. If you are having an issue with the game please post a new detailed thread and we'll be happy to take a look.
