Sims 4 crashes on startup after transferring Save File
Hi all. I occasionally transfer a really good save file back and forth between my two computers (desktop/laptop). I've never had any trouble with this, and my game is vanilla. I just copy the files onto a USB and paste them to whichever computer I want.
Tonight, I tried to transfer some save files from my desktop onto my laptop. My game was running fine on both computers until I pasted the save files onto the new computer. Once the save files are in the "saves" folder, my laptop will load the startup of TS4, but then crash a few seconds into the loading screen.
As soon as I take the save files out, the laptop TS4 runs fine again. I've never experienced this before. So far, I've tried:
- Updating and repairing TS4
- Updating Windows
- Updating Drivers
- Disabling overlay and advanced settings on Discord
- Restarting the computer
- Renaming the save files
- Deleting the save files from the USB, reloading them onto the USB, and then trying to import them again
I'm at a loss here. Can anyone offer assistance?
