Sims 4 Crashing after September 2020 update

I have this same problem as well. The game was working fine a couple of days ago, even after the update, and even earlier today. Then, suddenly, the crashes started happening. It loads up fine, but after I load a lot to play, it crashes within 5 min of gameplay, just like OP said. Every time I try to boot up the game again, it seems the play time becomes less and less. Apparently the game can't handle me trying to click on the fridge to get food. Or open the inventory. Or zoom in, etc, etc. I restarted my computer, but little improved.

I have never used mods and I don't understand computers or technical jargon enough to figure out a way to fix it or do some of the testing things that are being suggested. I am worried that if I mess around trying to find the source of the problem that I may end up crashing my PC. Hopefully it's just a fluke and it will be all fine tomorrow or they put up an emergency patch ASAP.
