For the last probably 4ish months (maybe longer idk it feels like this has been going on forever), I have had issues with Sims crashing my computer when loading the game. The game will start to load and then before it gets to the main menu, the screen goes black and then the computer starts up again. I have tried almost everything. Initially, I assumed it was a broken mod, but even after removing all mods, clearing the cache in EA, repairing the game, and running it without cache or any save files, this still occurs. Maybe once every 5 times I try this, it will actually load, but then the next time I go to play it either crashes before I even reach the main menu or as soon as a save loads. And sometimes I can add mods back in and the game will work fine, then the next day I've added no new mods and it will crash and be unplayable again. I have even completely reinstalled Windows. I truly have no idea what's wrong. All of my other games on my PC run fine (The Last of Us Part 1, City Skylines, etc). @beefpetunia A restart of the computer is almost always a hardware issue, even if other games run fine. Still, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post; it's easiest to start there and expand as necessary. https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/pc/how-to-gather-dxdiag-information/

@beefpetunia None of the errors in your dxdiag would explain the restarts you're seeing, which is not a surprise. It's helpful to be able to check though. What power supply do you have? Please list its manufacturer and specs, for example Corsair 750W 80+ Gold. Please also unplug the each power cable, at both ends if the PSU is modular, blow out the connectors (both on the cable and the computer component), and reseat them. Make sure they firmly click into place. Additionally, make sure the PSU's fan is pointed towards a source of fresh air rather than pushed up against a solid wall.

@beefpetunia Did you check the power connectors as described? If not, please do so now.

If that's not the issue, I'd like to see the results of some hardware monitoring. Please download hwinfo (it's free) from here:

You don't need to install anything; just choose the Portable version, unzip it, and launch it from Downloads or wherever you like. If you do want the full installer, be sure to click the button for hwinfo itself, not for lansweeper.

Restart your computer, open hwinfo, choose Sensors Only, and click the button that's a sheet of paper with a + to start logging. Save the log file to your desktop for easy access. Wait five minutes, then open Sims 4 and play until it or your computer crashes. The log should be intact up to that point even after you restart. Don't alt-tab out of the game or run any other programs, aside from the EA App of course, while you're testing.

Please upload the log to the third-party filesharing site of your choice (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) and link it for me. Either leave it in .csv format or, if you're going to use OneDrive, create a .zip file, and don't open the log before uploading it, or else my log reader might not be able to interpret it.
