Sims 4 doesnt launch, does appear in taskmanager.

It did open one time about a week ago and after the issue appeared again, I also tried downgrading to origin from the ea app which didnt help, i am currently back to the ea app

@JustTim51955  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.

If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

This could still be a system issue because each game uses a slightly different combination of runtimes and responds differently to other apps you may be running at the same time.  A dxdiag may clarify things further.

Hey, i have already tried this numerous times. Including yesterday after my last reinstall, it creates a new 'the sims 4' folder but still nothing happens. I will post a dxdiag for you later today

Note that i am running windows 11 education because its just a school laptop, Our school allows us to use it as a regular personal laptop too

@JustTim51955  Do you have admin rights for this laptop?  If not, troubleshooting will be more difficult.  If you can't do any step I suggest, let me know what happens when you try, including any error message you see.

If OneDrive is running on this laptop, whether you use it or not, please try pausing syncing before you play.  Right-click the cloud icon in the lower-right corner of the screen to see the option.

If that doesn't help, please create a new admin Windows account on this computer.  Make it local, as in, don't link it to your Microsoft account.  You'll be able to sign into the EA App and (try to) launch Sims 4 without reinstalling anything.

If that doesn't help either, let me know what antivirus you have installed, if any.  You should see it listed in various places, including under Windows Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security.

Hi, I have regular admin perms

I have already tried turning off onedrive sync.

I have also tried creating a local account but nothing shows up in the menu, it only shows up if its via a microsoft account. Can you find any fix for this?

I recently deleted my antivirus (g-data) it might still have some files that can interfere but i think not.

My current antivirus is just windows defender, i have already added the sims and ea to my controleld folder permission and controlled app permission.

Hi, I already fixed it. I meant that it wouldnt show up on ym welcome screen but I can open the local account now, From the new account i found out the sims 4 is only running as a background process (I have showing these differences off in task manager on my account) so now we have something to go off. I found a different thread about this but it was with the documents folder which didnt fix it for me.

@JustTim51955  Okay, so the game doesn't work in the new local account either?  If not, please disable Windows Defender's Controlled Folder Access, as described here:

If that doesn't help, please look for any related errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent attempt to launch Sims 4, specifically in the new account and after disabling CFA.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.

Hi, I did this yesterday and checked today, the only thing i can see related to the sims is something about microsoft gameInut which i think may be related.

I dont see any other errors for now
