tried starting a new game, but it doesn't work either. The game itself doesn't crash, just can select anything and menu is dead. Have to toggle out and kill the Sims process to close it.
Im having the same issue. Soon as I the save for my family, the game is stuck on pause with no option to click play. I also cant click on the three bubbles or gallery or the camera settings. Nothings happens. Can anyone help?
@bethjohnston73 Try removing the UI cheats mod, if you have it. If not, or if it doesn't help, remove your Mods folder, delete localthumbcache.package, and test. You don't have to save your progress, so don't worry about any warnings of missing items; this is just to see whether it helps.
How do i remove my mods folder from game without having to delete and reinstall everything?
@bethjohnston73 Go into Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4, and drag your Mods folder to your desktop. As long as you don't save your progress with the mods removed, your saves should be fine.
That is what I have been doing. Started with no mods and then gradually have added back in. I'll try everything minus the UI cheat mod, as I do have that. Will follow-up if that is the culprit.
Thanks...UI cheat mod was the culprit. I do notice one weird thing I have not seen before. I have a red border around the game window once I launch a game (new or save).
@KingKracKer Does the red border still appear when you're not using mods at all?
