Sims 4 Game Launching Problem: EA Account Replaced Steam Account

I originally bought Sims 4 on Steam and have bought all of my packs and add-ons on Steam as well. Until today. I bought a free kit from the EA site, another kit from EA (that was not free), and two more add-ons that were linked to my Steam account. When I started the game after downloading, it had a download error on EA on the two add-ons linked to my Steam. After checking things out, I stopped the downloads on EA because it was fully downloaded on Steam. That seemed to clear things up and the game started as normal, launching from Steam. That is, until the game fully launched. When the game loaded, it was using my EA account, which I have never individually used to play Sims 4. It always used my Steam account to launch. I tried restarting the game, restarting my EA app, etc. - all to no avail. I have lost my saved games and my gallery content as I never uploaded it to the community server. In all, I have lost 129 hours of gameplay on my Steam, because the game now launches using my EA account instead. How do I get my original account to launch Sims 4 and get my saved games and gallery items back?

  • @Sawtooth_005  It sounds like you may be signing into the wrong EA account, as in, not the one linked to your Steam account; or that there's a problem with the account link.  To test this, please go to any EA site (ea.com is fine) in a private browser window, click the sign in button, and login with your Steam credentials.  Make sure you land in the correct EA account.  If you don't, or you get an error, let me know.

More generally, you'll still need to launch Sims 4 through Steam in order to access your Steam-owned content.  You should be able to download your EA App-owned content into your Steam install, provided the accounts are linked properly.  But downloading a second copy of the base game is unnecessary and will only confuse the EA App.
