Sims 4 General Lag

Hello! Recently my Sims 4 game has been lagging TREMENDOUSLY! My graphics are on low, i have online features ticked off, i’ve removed my screenshots and removed my cache and it still lags. my game is having delayed reactions (i’ll click on a sim or click on a sim to switch too and it takes like 30 seconds and when i try to pause or speed up it takes forever), and lagging when switching worlds. Please help!

  • @cyberstxr  Okay, so there's nothing else that's using too much RAM all by itself.  Just out of curiosity, please use this guide to check whether your system's page file is dynamic or artificially capped:

    https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/77692-manage-virtual-memory-pagefile-windows-10-a.html

(I can't find a good guide for Windows 11 that isn't behind a paywall, but this one should work fine.)  Specifically, in step 6, let me know whether the box to automatically manage page file size is checked or not.  You don't need to change anything yet; this is just so I know.

For the issue itself, I'd like to see the results of some hardware monitoring on this laptop.  Download hwinfo from here:

    https://www.hwinfo.com/download/

You don't need to install anything; just download the portable version, unzip it in Downloads, and launch it from there or wherever you like.  (If you do want to use the full installer, be sure to click the button for hwinfo itself, not for lansweeper.)  Restart your computer, open hwinfo, and click the button that's a sheet of paper with a + sign to start logging.  Wait five minutes, then launch Sims 4 and play for at least 20 minutes, then click the same button to stop logging.  If the game lags for only part of the time, please let me know when that starts relative to when you started playing (e.g. the game was fine for six minutes and then...) so I can match it to the log data.

Upload the log file to a third-party filehosting site and link it here. Please leave it in .csv format, or if you upload it to OneDrive, zip it first.

This is after the clean boost on both tabs.

@cyberstxr  Something is using way too much RAM just on startup.  Even subtracting the memory Microsoft Edge is using, your system is still at 3.1 GB used when it should be closer to 2.  Are there any other entries in the Task Manager's processes tab (your first screenshot) that are using at least 100 MB memory?  If so, please list them.

Please also let me know how a new save runs in a clean boot.  Test in one of the base game worlds again, and don't open anything other than Origin and Sims 4, not even Edge.

There are a few high ones at the Process tab, Desktop Window Manager at 93.6, Antimalware Service Executable and 109, and Windows Explorer at 49. There are more that range from 20-30s but only two or three.
