Sims 4 Get to work Medical items showing up as red and white squares?!

Product: The Sims 4 Platform: PC

Which language are you playing the game in? English

How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)

What happens when the bug occurs? Only the things from the get to work pack show up red and white, but its ALL of them items such as medical equipment even the entire hospital is red and white.

What do you expect to see? The sim should not have any patches or question marks on it.

Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes I'm not sure which update it was since I haven't played in over 7 months because of this issue frustrating me so much.

What steps have you tried to repair your game? I have removed ALL mods, ALL tray items and every custom content item, I suspect that the issue originally was from a cc item because the get to work items used to show up rainbow; but after removing cc the items became red and white. Some further steps I've taken to fix my game are uninstalling and installing my game 3 times, each time it created a fresh new copy of the sims 4 files. I "repaired" my game via steam, If someone has any suggestions on what I can do to repair my game please reach out!!!

  • @janelizv1  Please test a new save.  If that doesn't help, please try another new save, this time in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just load a new save and look at some of the currently-affected items.

If that doesn't help, try deleting and redownloading only Get to Work.  I'm not sure why, but sometimes, a full uninstall and reinstall doesn't help but this does.  GtW's folder is labeled EP01, and it'll be inside [install location]\The Sims 4, which is here by default:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Sims 4

After deleting it, Steam should allow you to reinstall the expansion.
