Sims 4 Growing Together: Not being able to play anyone?

Hi I go by Sanersh for privacy reasons, but is anyone having issues with not even able to open the game at all? I can't open my game from Steam or the EA App. I have been trying to play it since the infants update, but it just crashes upon opening. I would like to see if the community has a solution before EA or a mod to fix this. I already took out all of my mods and cc, and it still doesn't work. Not only that, ever since the base game update my computer has just been overall slow laggy. My storage, and my video card is up to date and not full, almost having 10 GB as of posting this. EA needs to stop doing this to its customers, especially since I payed hundreds of dollars to even make the game feel fun to play. Now I can't even play at all. I think EA needs new servers, I don't think EA expected this many people to play, but this is the average amount of Simmers playing, why is it bad now? And if you say, "maybe they thought the same amount of people were going to play?" So? They should have more than enough servers to accommodate everyone, not just the average. Sorry for going on a rant, but this has been an ongoing issue, and it hasn't been fixed as of writing this. If anybody has a link, or suggestion to fix this problem, I would be more than happy to try it out and see if it works. Stay safe everyone.

@9831087  When you say you reset your computer, do you mean you restored it to factory settings, or something less drastic?  If you restored to factory settings, please post a new dxdiag.  If you didn't do that, please update the BIOS using the software provided by HP.  The BIOS update is the first option listed on the driver download page you linked before.

This is what I got, and I don't do factory resets at all. I just reset my computer is all, nothing special.

@9831087  Now that you've updated the BIOS, please do a clean uninstall and reinstall of the graphics driver, as described here:

    https://crinrict.com/blog/2019/02/clean-re-install-of-graphics-drivers-with-display-driver-uninstaller-ddu.html

Download a fresh copy of the same driver you've been trying to install already.  If DDU can't find an installed driver, that's fine, just skip the process and try again to manually install the driver, but it's worth at least finding out whether DDU detects a driver at all.

If this doesn't help either, please post a new dxdiag.

I did all of the steps, but it still gave me the same error about my video card. I haven't been able to play the game since I really installed Growing Together, do you know how to fix this?

  • @9831087 Hi, I finally can open the game now. I manually updated my drive, which was so helpful. I couldn't see the date of when they came out, but now I can. Thank you so much for helping me get my Sims 4 together! Please have a great rest of your day!
