Sims 4 has stopped working.

I haven't played sims 4 in a while, so I started it up again today, the game needed some updates, which I did. But everytime I try to start it up, it shows a black screen and an error message saying the sims 4 has stopped working. I tried repairing the game, I reinstalled the game, and I reinstalled Origins and the game. Nothing worked. I have never had any mods or CC installed, so that can't be the issue. I also tried running it in the offline mode, but that didn't do anything either.

Is there something else I can do?

DxDiag included.

  • The cause of the crash is SSAudioosd.dll which is the Steel Series Audio driver. However you do not appear to have any Steel Series devices installed. Your Keyboard is Corsair K70 LUX same as mine and you have a Trust mouse so you should remove this driver. If you do have an Steel Series device you occasionally use look for an updated driver.

  • Yes, I occasionally use a steelseries headset. I updated the drivers but it didn't work, so I deleted them and now it works. Thank you so much!
