Sims 4 Household Loading Error
Hi there.
I've had TS4 for about two months now and since then it has worked beautifully. I have never had a crash or other issue until the other day. Since yesterday, I have been able to get into the game itself, but when I click on a house to choose to play it, I get stuck on a loading screen indefinitely. I've left it on for as long as three hours with no result. The screen isn't frozen and it continues to move and act as if it's loading, but I get the distinct feeling that it's going nowhere.
I have played with plenty of mods since the beginning with no trouble, and I even followed all the steps to do a factory reset without deleting my games. The error is resolved once I start up the new game after deleting my TS4 folder in My Documents. I add back in my Options file and the game still results in no error. However, when I put my old Saves folder back in, I begin to run into the loading issue. I imagine my save file must be corrupted, but I'm not sure what steps I should take to return to an old save.
Also, I noticed that the loading issue began soon after I downloaded some new houses from the Gallery. After I did that, I had a similar issue where I went to replace several homes in my neighborhoods with these new houses and I noticed that when I would flip between neighborhoods, my new houses would be gone and replaced by the originals or empty lots. This and the loading issue manifested pretty much within the same 30 minutes.
Any help would be appreciated!
Best is to try your saves one by one. You don't need to put the scrap or the other folder back, only the slotXXXX.sav ones.
The 00001 is the autosave and usually the culprit for everything. So start with putting back slot0002 and see if it loads, then add the next one and so on.
The ones with ver0-4 are your backups so if none work, remove the verX from the name to make those active.
