@elizabethob Please try playing while your computer is offline. You can sign into Origin and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.
Please test with a save and in a Sims 4 user folder that have never been exposed to MCCC, just to be thorough. If you need to, create another clean Sims 4 folder and start a new save.
I've tried doing this a lot, it's the first thing I do after checking for any updates I've missed.
@elizabethob So even if you play with your computer completely offline, you still get the infinite loading screen? If so, please try playing in a new Windows admin user account, again while your computer is offline. (You may need to launch the game once while online, but you can quit once you get to the Main Menu.) Don't add any mods or any of your other content, and don't sync with any of your existing accounts, not even Microsoft.
