Sims 4 not installing on my hard drive

I've been trying for months to install the Sims 4 on to my hard drive and it's not working it's been stuck on 2% and saying preparing every time I try to install it.

I just bought a new hard drive it's a C port and it's still saying the same thing.

One time I left it to install for the entire night and in the morning it said it couldn't find the location I don't know but it's really making me mad.

I'm not sure if this is important but I got my laptop in May also my sister has the sims 4 on her hard drive but her laptop is way older than mine.
