Sims 4 PC loading screen on in live mode

I'm having technical issues with Sims 4 for pc. It started recently after I did an update. When I try loading a game it gets stuck on the loading screen in live mode. Also if I try clicking on anything it freezes on the screen. I took a screenshot of the problem as well. Can someone please help me with this? Thanks!

  • @DanielleKeskeny  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see whether you have the same issue.

If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

Thank you for the quick response! I opened the EA folder and for some reason the actual Sims game was not located within the Sims 4 folder. It only seemed to be available on either the desktop or through the EA app. My boyfriend ran a dxdiag and it said there's a problem with the video drivers. He re-installed all of them and that didn't help. Also I did try to repair the game and I also tried to un-install and re-install with no success.

@DanielleKeskeny  I would like to see a new dxdiag, post-reinstalling the drivers, so I can look for other issues.

The Sims 4 folder I mentioned does not include the game's program files, only the user data.  The point is to remove that data from the picture and see whether it helps.

If you opened the Electronic Arts folder within Program Files, that's completely separate and not relevant to the issue.  The relevant Electronic Arts folder is in Documents.
