Sims 4 running high memory in task manager?

@laineyk3 Origin has been using excessive CPU for some people for weeks now. I don't know of any good solution other than to put it in offline mode. If you're up to experimenting, you could also limit the cores it can use, which can be done in the Task Manager.
For the Sims 4 issues, did your sims just celebrate Winterfest? There's a major issue related to Father Winter that, among other things, causes the game to use excessive CPU and RAM and lag dramatically.
