Here is my dxdiag. Sorry for taking so long.
@CatiLicousNess Your dxdiag shows a couple of serious crashes of the graphics driver, or one of them anyway. Since the dxdiag also lists some Windows errors, please start with a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:
- Hit Windows key-X
- Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
- Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
- The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
- After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
- Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
- Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
- Post the message you receive here
Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates. If any install, restart again afterwards.
Next, download and install the newest Nvidia driver:

Choose the custom (rather than express) install, and check the box to perform a clean install. Restart again after installing the driver and before trying to play.
These issues should be addressed regardless, but if Sims 4 still doesn't load, please confirm whether the clean folder helped and whether the game's icon shows up in the Task Manager.

Errors: None
Message: Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log
Sims 4 appears in the task manager as a background process using very little CPU.
However, when i use the new folder method you provided it runs as an app and i am able to play.- puzzlezaddict3 years agoHero+
@CatiLicousNess Alright, with the system issues addressed, you know that the previous issue with Sims 4 was related to something in your user folder. Now you can start moving files from the old Sims 4 folder to the new one and testing. Deal with your mods and custom content first; if you have a lot of it, you can use the 50/50 method to make the process more efficient.

Once you've sorted through your mods and cc, move over the contents of Tray (not the folder itself, just the files inside it) and test again, then move over your saves. Most of the other files don't need to be transferred, but you can go over this list to make sure you're not missing anything you'd like to keep:
