Sims 4 Sims get stuck in an animation loop runs very slowly

Hello this happened recently where the problem got really bad. it used to run slow but now it has gotten to the point of being unplayable. When i play after about 5-10 minutes all my sims enter into an animation loop that im unable to pull them out of. then the game won't let me close it so sometimes i have been forced to restart the whole laptop by holding the power key. the game can't even run at the absolute lowest settings and im unable to do anything in the game. 
the time on the game will pause and then start running normally however the sims will be stuck in an animation loop. even if i enter build mode the sims are still stuck in the same loop. any help would be greatly appreciated.

    my sims have had winterfest and we have a father winter sim. is this the issue that is happening? how can i prevent it? my save file size is 62,000KB so it seems like it might be save bloating im not sure how to repair that.

    @kristengee123  The article on Crinrict's website describes your various options.  But in summary:

    • Put aside your save until EA has a fix
    • Revert to a previous save from before the issue occurred, and either cancel Winterfest or remove Father Winter as a tradition
    • Revert to a previous save, and use one mod to prevent the issue
    • Use two mods to fix an existing save

    In your case, you could delete the bloated save, then delete the .ver0 extension from the save listed immediately below it, and the data from the second to last time you saved would now be your active save.  So you could play forward from there with either the mod fix or with Father Winter removed.  More details, and links to both relevant mods, are in Crin's article.
