Sims 4 update stuck on preparing

I'm on PC. and Ive tried SO many things now.
removed the cache on the app, restarted the computer, EA app online and offline,

Attempting to do the recent update from 12/5/23, computer won't change from 2% even after refreshing page, cancelling & starting over, closing EA App, checking for updates on my laptop, restarting laptop. Can't open & play the game until update is complete. 😖😖 please help!!

Have you tried resetting the app using the menu that looks like 3 lines at the top left of the EA app? This is how I fixed mine today.
