Sims 4 update stuck on preparing

Hi.

I'm on PC. and Ive tried SO many things now.

removed the cache on the app, restarted the computer, EA app online and offline,

Ive tried to cansle the download of the update, and even tried to Repair the game...

But NOTHING happens!?

Nothing will make the update go faster.

Or even start to show % downloaded at all.

I have delited a few script mods from the mods folder befor even trying.

What can I do now!?

  • I bought the new expansion pack, for rent, a few days back and also the free romantic garden pack. My game needed updating and so I attempted to update but the app is not going past the preparing stage. I have tried re[airing the game but it again, does not go past 2% with me waiting hours and no change. I've restarted my computer, ensured nothing else is downloading etc on my gaming laptop (plenty of space on my disk) and have had no issues playing other games not from the EA app. I've opened the app as administrator and that also does nothing to help. I recall this issue happening before when I bought a new pack and I had to move files about but I don't remember how to do that!

  • Thats it, been trying to update it since the pre "for rent" update hit. My game will not update. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the ea app. I took my mods out before even trying to update. And it wont even get to the percentage stage of trying to update, it says preparing and the flashing bar. I even left it for over 16 hours, went to bed and then work, to see if it was just running slow. It's been weeks. I want this fixed.

It's EA's service. Go into EA Play and reset app chache. This doesn't always work. Sometimes it takes weeks for me to get a connection to the EA server. It's one of the worst and most unreliable clients in existence and I wish I owned everything on Steam so I would never have to use it again.

  • My sims won't update. The update starts calculating time, but always stops at 6%. Then a window appears, saying that something went wrong and that an unknown error occured. I tried restarting everything, clearing the cache, reinstalling the app. I inqured the issue with EA days ago, but no word from them. Any help?
