Sims 4 Update Taking Forever

Hey everyone! So recently I really really wanted to play my Sims 4 game, but I saw that I needed to download a "crucial update" in order to play. So I began to update my game.. But, I left it on for over 15 hours and the update is only at 17%. I have restarted Origin and even my laptop multiple times, but it hasn't been working. I'm honestly quite frustrated. Does anyone know what to do?

ALSO - My internet speed is at 8mbps, and I'm not going to buy a new and faster internet connection just for this when the speed for everyday use and to download other games is just fine.
