Sims 4 won't launch : TRIED EVERYTHING

My limits are being reached, and after talking to 14 different EA advisors and reaching zero solution, this is my last turn of events. I'm losing hope, especially since I can't find anything similar to mine online, and if it is it was fixed in a way that didn't fix this issue.

Sims 4, when clicking play, will minimize origin, before reopening. Sims 4 does not launch at all, there is no error messages or anything shown in task manager. The only reason I know I've clicked the button to start is because the app minimizes, and origin updates the 'last played' title. I have no CC or mods, and this EXACT thing happens on the family computer, which used to successfully run sims. Interestingly, when opened in offline mode, it would display a small message saying "missing display name" however now says "sign in with your EA account to activate The Sims 4"' - these only happened when running in offline mode.

Before suggesting, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING! I have tried every one of the following troubleshoot methods, which includes everything suggested by the "advisors" - please also keep in mind that I have the same issues across multiple devices. All of these actions have been done multiple times, in multiple different ways

  • Restarted device
  • Deleted Origin and reinstalled origin
  • Deleted Sims and reinstalled sims
  • Safe Boot
  • Clean Boot
  • Updated all drivers, software, and general updates
  • 'Repaired' the game
  • Had advisors remove and add the game to my account
  • Cleared Cache
  • Opened game in a variety of different ways
  • Disabled firewall

I'm hoping I can have some help since I spent so much money on this game... the advisors have sent me on wild goose chases, and I've almost broken down crying. If absolutely anyone can help me, I'd be forever grateful

  • sorry, I forgot to add that. Yes I have tried disabling anti-virus too - I cannot remember the software off by heart for both devices, but the other devices' anti-virus never had this issue

  • I'm having this exact same problem. Also tried everything (including the anti-virus) to no avail ☹️

@ThexImperfectx Could you post your Computer's DxDiag?

    - Press Windows-Key + R
    - Type: DxDiag
    - Click on Save all Information.
    - Attach the Text File to your post
  • I've already gone through all this - the thing is, this isn't one device, it's multiple devices that are having this difficulty, as well it would seem someone else in this thread. Sorry if I sound frustrated, but I've already had to provide my computers DxDiag MULTIPLE TIMES to a varying amount of advisors. I'm not providing it because I already had. The only thing to note is the advisor saying I was missing the following files:

    MsiExec.exe
    DllHost.exe

I've been told to download these files:

    x86: vc_redist.x86.exe
    x64: vc_redist.x64.exe

And the issue is the fact that this is across multiple devices, one of which used to successfully run Sims 4. There is also no 'COM Surrogate' error or application visible on the task manager. I still feel like I'm going around in circles.

@ThexImperfectx I'm sorry, I'm unable to help you further then. Someone else might.

I don't have access to information you gave support so I don't know what they told you to try already.

You did say you tried everything so I'm really at loss what else to suggest.

  • Yeah same, honestly this was my last resort. Just going to wait until new patch to see if anything changes. I've spent like upwards of $300 over the years and I'm gonna be really mad if this doesn't get fixed...
