Sims 4 won't launch in Origin after April 1 update. Worked fine earlier today. Now when I hit play in Origin nothing happens.
I fixed it. Try moving your Sims 4 folder in My Documents > Electronic Arts to your Desktop and restart the game. If it starts you can add your files from the desktop back to the folder in My Docs a few at the time to see if you can recreate the failure.
UPDATE... I tried repairing the game in Origin and loaded EA Beta and tried launching the game from that. No luck.
One more attempt... Moved Sims 4 folder to desktop and redownloaded game. Still won't load with either EA Beta or Origin. In either app when you hit play the app disappears for about 5 seconds then reappears still showing the play button.
Same thing is happening to me. Screen goes black like it's loading, then crashes and goes back to Origin like nothing happened. I restarted my PC and that time the Sims 4 screen came up for about 2 seconds, then crashed again.

@Hoagie1958 Glad you solved it - my next guess would have been a problem with the game user files.
