Sims 4 won't launch

Hello...I played yesterday, but today the game won't start.  I click on the game icon, and sometimes get the screen that says PLAY, but then it just returns to the same screen.  I have done REPAIR, and I have done a hard reboot of the machine.  What could be causing this problem?

    @puzzlezaddict Oh my gosh, I found out what I did. I installed some rugs from Sims 3 into my Sims 4 mods folder. That is why the game wouldn't start. I backtracked my downloads for the day (very few) and once I deleted them, the game runs perfectly. Thanks much for the responses.!

    @hollyw26  Does your computer run Windows or macOS?  I can move your post to one of the Sims 4 sections of the forum.

    In the meantime, please move your entire Sims 4 game folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  Try to launch the game, and let me know whether it works.

    it doesnt work for me either i have a pc (windows 10) and it says it launching but it never does it just opens origin i deleted stuff for sims 3 but it still doesnt work
