I also have almost the same problem. I installed the latest patch and the game crashes now in the loading. saying the Sims 4 stopped working.
I have NVIDIA Quadro K4000M with the latest drivers installed, Intel Core i7-3740QM third generation and 2 SSD in Raid 0, (Precision m6700), I don't have any issue with other software/game at this point and never had one until I applied the latest Sims patch which I am replicating the same issue as other posters in the forum.
Any thoughts?
Actually I was able to troubleshoot myself and found a solution.
When launching Origin right click on top of the Sims 4 game and select the option "Game Property"
It will show a pop up with a check box option of "Disable Origin in Game for this game" make sure you marked this option as selected
Open the Sims 4
