Sims 4 Wont stream on Discord (stuck on loading screen-preview screen)

Hi, I wanna stream on discord but unfortunately my preview screen is on a forever loading screen and then it times out and closes. I have tried everything, from installing a fitting driver, to put on the overlay. I know that this issue is best suited for Discord support but I wanna see if its an Origin problem cuz even my other games (Sims 2, Peggle and Theme Hospital) Have the same issue. I uploaded my dxd and a screenshot of what the overlay looks like when trying to stream on the sims 4. If anyone knows what the issue is then please help me.

  • Hi;

    Discord can be a pain to get streaming correctly; are you doing screen sharing between users, or trying to stream like for a whole channel?

    I've found toggling the feature "Use our latest technology to capture your screen" in Discord sometimes fixes the issue. I wonder if the issue might also be relating to the server communication issue I've noticed with users trying to enter voice channels? To toggle that, there's a setting called "Enable Quality of Service High Packet Priority" in Voice & Audio that occasionally must be turned off for it to work; it usually has something to do with the router communication on the voice and video level.

    You can also attempt to go around using the "Stream the Sims 4" option in streams and instead try to share the specific screen with sound; sometimes that's a workaround, but you'll have to contend with other windows coming up in your stream if you go that route. (That method isn't as streamer-friendly, but it can be used in a pinch.)

    Are you able to stream other games with no issues?

    Hi B,

    I already disabled the latest technology to capture my screen and it still makes no difference and I am only streaming on the server as I am not sure on how to stream it to another user (although when someone did watch it- they were on a black screen). I might try to stream to another user.

    Thanks for the help.🙂

    Hi there again;

    To stream to another user, open a call to them like you would a voice call; there will be an option within the call to "Share Sims 4" or "Share Screen" which you can attempt to use to stream in said call.

    If "Share Sims 4" doesn't work, try "Share screen" then select the correct monitor, and under "Application Window" make sure sound is turned on for "Sims 4." (This is the method I mentioned earlier that's a workaround.)

    Hopefully it works for you.

    Hi B,

    I did do a screen share and it works fine, its just people can't hear anything but hey, at least it works. I couldn't even stream in the DM but it will do for you.

    Thanks,
