Sims are stuck inside room - can I remove object in other Sim's lot?

My two sims are stuck in a room. I try to move them to another area and they both wave their arms saying that a wardrobe and bed are in the way. (Then how did they get in there in the first place???)...

    @cinderfallen

    You have to use code bb.enablefreebuild
    If this code isn't working now - go to the city map, click on this lot and choose on the right down of the screen picture of tools. Click it and you will go to this house in building mode.

    Then return to your sim. Choose his household and click "Play" He'll be where you left him
